A training “Job search. How to get fixed up in a job and not to lose it” was organized for youngsters with disabilities within the framework of the project “Employment school” in Bobruisk. Eduard Shipitsin, a supported employment specialist of NGO “BelAPDIiMI”, was the trainer. The participants of the training got an opportunity to assess the level of their knowledge, to determine their wishes and aims and find out what employers think and want to hear from potential workers.
They learnt the definition of “work” and “employment”, got acquainted with the rules of behavior at a workplace. People with disabilities found out how to understand what have to be changed in one’s life in order to achieve cherished dreams. They managed to get to know their inner world, to overstep psychological barriers which hinder them from being a successful person.
Also, the trainer told how one should prepare for the first day at your new job. When an interview is over and you are employed, you will face quite complicated time of adjusting to your team. The trainer shared all the necessary information with the participants, it will help them to avoid possible problems and conflicts at a workplace, find new acquaintances and friends.
The participants of the training got recommendations on the process of job search and further steps of employment, they got necessary skills and knowledge in order to become a confident person, to determine correct goals and find a well-deserved job. At the end of the training the participants were given homework which would have to be done till the next training. The tasks will be done by the participants with the help of the consultants of the project “Employment school”. The project is being implemented within the framework of the programme “Notice 50” which is financed by the European Union.
