In March we will sum up the project “First steps to work” which have been realized during 2 years by the NGO “BelAPDIiMI”. Despite such a short period, the staff of the project achieved great results. One of them – 27 people with disabilities was employed in the open labour market.
The project team organized an outdoor training for young people who were employed and for those who have not yet got employment. It was carried out in the farm “Mini resthouse – SPА” near settlement Zhdanovichi.
The training was carried out by psychologists from Minsk city center of social services for families and children. Work in groups was organized in such a way that communication helped young people to develop their skills of work in teams. Training was carried out in the form of a game and it was aimed at gaining emotional experience. At leisure time young people played board games, communicated and just walked around in the forest.
After walking in the winter forest the owner of the farm invited everyone to take a steam bath and to swim in the pool. And in the evening we all gathered in front of the fireplace to discuss and exchange impressions. There were a lot of questions, especially from people who were not employed. Also there were disputes and discussions, but all participants were very happy thanks to this communication and the opportunity to be head, perhaps for the first time in their life.
The staff of the NGO “BelAPDIiMI” and young people express thanks to the owners of the farm for warm welcome, attentive attitude and care. We hope for further cooperation.
