PARTNER CONFERENCE IN KRZYZOWA (POLAND)

CYMERA_20141023_133008On 22-26.10.2014, in Krzyzowa (Poland), a partner conference “Memory for the sake of a common future” was held. The conference was attended by about 250 people from Belarus, Germany, France, Great Britain, Japan, Kazakhstan, Italy, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Spain, the Netherlands, Turkey and Ukraine.

Eduard  Shipitsyn presented at the conference a new project of  NGO “BelAPDIiMI” “Ordinary People.” About equal participation of people with disabilities in the life of society that will be implemented by our organization in 2014-2016 within the framework of Support Programme in Belarus by the German government. Our partners: “Help for Belarusian children harmed by nuclear radiation  at the “Evangelisch-Freikirchliche Gemeinde Berlin-Köpenick”, ICPO “Children. Autism. Parents”, CPA “World without borders”, Association of European Businesses.

Project aim: Creation of an information platform for professional discussion of people with different views, experience and approaches that will help to form a new, adequate image of an adult person with intellectual disabilities and to draw public attention to their problems and needs.

Within the framework of four thematic groups of the conference the participants discussed the issues of sustainable development, social sphere, organizational development, exchanged ideas within joint projects and could get individual expert consultation on their partner projects.

Within the framework of the conference thematic excursions on International Educational Center Krayzau and surrounding areas on themes “Interfaith projects”, “Integration of people with mental and physical disabilities”, “Concepts of Sustainable Development in Poland”, “Krayzau and resistance to National Socialism” were organized. Employee of NGO “BelAPDIiMI” visited an association Ostoja in Wroclaw, which represents and protects the interests of children and youth with disabilities and their families since 1993.

We express our gratitude to the administration of Johannes Rau International Center for Education and Exchange for opportunity to participate in this conference, to share experience with other participants and to present the results of the work.
