The Republican Resource Centre for Inclusive Education celebrates its grand opening

The employees of NGO “BelAPDIiMI” participated in the grand opening of the Republican Resource Centre for Inclusive Education which took place on March 29, 2017. This innovative training methodological subdivision of the Institute for Inclusive Education within Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank was established as a result of joint work between the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank. Representatives of different ministries and departments of the Republic of Belarus, embassies, educational and health care institutions, NGOs which represent the interests of people with disabilities and mass media participated in the ceremony.

The main aim of work of the Centre is to accumulate, summarize and disseminate the experience of use of educational resources necessary for training of pedagogical staff and for training and social adaptation of persons with special educational needs. The resource centre, where an equipped sensory room, an alternative communication room and a conference hall are located, will make it possible to organize effective theoretical and practical training for pedagogues and parents.

NGO “BelAPDIiMI” gave different books from its large library collections and sets of pictograms (black and white and coloured ones) to specialists and parents.

5 families from NGO “BelAPDIiMI” participated in a photo exhibition organized by UNICEF and timed to coincide with the opening of the resource centre. Stunning stories of families (the Chaley, the Sivenkovy, the Kostyaginy, the Krylovy and the Filonets families) prove once again that love and understanding are the most important things in life, even despite difficulties and circumstances.

Posters and groundwork of NGO “BelAPDIiMI” in the field of easy-to-read language were demonstrated in the centre.
