In March 2016, residents of three Belarusian regions were able to learn better projects that were included in content of the brochures, to learn more about adult people with intellectual disabilities, their potential and role in personal and social life. “Everyone has a right to be himself” – under such motto presentations of the edition “Ordinary People” were held in Gomel, Grodno and Brest.
The activity was attended by representatives of different areas – parents and young people with disabilities from primary structures of NGO “BelAPDIiMI”, heads of regional administrations in social and educational spheres, heads and specialists of state structures, staff of public and religious organizations, mass media representatives and other stakeholders. Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly on Labour and Social Issues Larisa Bogdanovich took part in the presentation which was held in Brest.
The participants of the presentation were presented materials of heroes and authors of articles of “Ordinary People”, awarding of which was held in Minsk in February (in the “Renaissance – Minsk Hotel”).
In turn, guests of the presentation gave examples of successful inter-agency cooperation and social partnership of public and state organizations in their cities and regions, aimed at successful socialization of children and young people with intellectual and multiple developmental disabilities, development of their creative potential.
Performances prepared by children with disabilities left no guest indifferent.
Exhibitions of decorative and applied art with works made by hands of children with disabilities worked during the presentations.
Promoproduction: eco-bags (for handout materials) and magnets with logos of the activity were prepared for participants of the presentation. Promoproduction was published at Unitary Enterprise of NGO “BelAPDIiMI” “ArtIdea” and “Baran Arabesques”. The participants have also received issues of brochure “Ordinary People”, memo “Clear language for professionals” and other handouts.
