A regional campaign “Inclusive Belarus: to achieve the aims of sustainable development and not to leave anyone aside” is confidently striding along the country! A performance “The little prince” was shown in Vitebsk by the Fashion Theatre “kidsPODIUM” and the NGO “Belarusian association of assistance to children and young people with disabilities” within the framework of a series of activities dedicated to the subjects of inclusion and equality. A concert hall “Vitebsk” had become the main place for this inclusive fashion show and for other activities carried out within the campaign. Participants from all over the country and from foreign countries participated in the campaign.
The representatives of the agencies of the United Nations Organization (U.N.O.), the diplomatic corps and local government bodies participated in the official opening ceremony. Many different activities were planned to be carried out. Different exhibits were placed in the concert hall. They demonstrated equal rights and opportunities which people have for participation in development of the society, irrespective of their age, sex, state of health, ethnic group, religion or origin.
Following activities were also planned: a seminar about an integrated centre which renders services, a table tennis tournament for people with weak vision, a UN cinema festival, a meeting of the press club of the regional mass media, master classes and trainings, for example an IT-training on promotion of goods manufactured by people with disabilities, “School of leadership for women” and many other activities. The issues of inclusion will be discussed during the round table by the administration of the region, the representatives of the U.N.O. agencies and non-governmental organizations. An inclusive concert will become a culmination of the campaign. The campaign will be finished in Minsk on the 9th-10th of December.
