New year’s congratulations to our friends and partners!

On December 2, 2011,
a final conference was carried out within the framework of the project

“Assistance to adults with mental multiple disabilities – 18+”

The conference was organized in the Johannes Rau Minsk International Educational Centre. The project group “18+” consisted of representatives of the social services of the Russian Orthodox Church (the Belarusian Exarchate), the parents’ NGO “BelAPDIiMI”, the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank, as well as of representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus.
The project group supervised the project and its 3 main areas of work: scientific and practical conferences, regional one-day seminars and publication of an information brochure to raise skill level.
An editorial board was formed to develop the contents of the brochure. The editorial board consisted of representatives of the social services of the Russian Orthodox Church (Minsk), representatives of the NGO “BelAPDIiMI” (Minsk) and the NGO “Open Heart” (Vinnitsa), representatives of universities (the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M. Tank (Minsk), the Sholokhov Moscow State University for the Humanities (Moscow), and Vinnitsa social and economic university “Ukraine” (Vinnitsa)), and representatives of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus.

Благодаря финансовой поддержке Министерства культуры Республики Беларусь 135 семей ОО «БелАПДИиМИ» приняли участие в 3-х автобусных экскурсиях 9 ноября в Раков-Ивенец и 11, 16 ноября 2011 г. в Лидский замок.

On October 27, 2011, the seminar “Occupational Therapy in Belarus” was carried out on the basis of the Belarusian Resource and Adaptation Centre “Open Doors” of the NGO “BelAPDIiMI”.

Occupational therapy means all kinds of activities which contribute to development and sustainability of people with physical, psychological and/or mental disabilities. It is a method of treatment based on use of working processes with the aim to recover, develop and compensate lost or insufficient functions.
